Ted M. Gans is Of Counsel of Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy & Sadler, PLC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business, corporate, tax law and estate planning.
Mr. Gans has provided extensive business advice and counsel through the years, representing clients in all aspects of business law. He has created and structured corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies. Mr. Gans also has significant experience representing automobile dealers and his years of experience allows him to assist clients in dealing with many issues specific to the automotive industry.
Mr. Gans' tax expertise has allowed him to provide counsel and advice to corporations and their shareholders, individual taxpayers and fiduciaries and beneficiaries regarding tax planning and compliance. Prior to his entry into the legal profession he worked as a field agent at the Internal Revenue Service ("IRS"). Mr. Gans provides tax advice in connection with structuring corporate transactions and has appeared before the IRS in connection with the audit of corporate, individual and estate tax returns. He also has a great deal of experience in working with the owners of closely held businesses to plan for succession of corporate ownership.
In the estate planning area, Mr. Gans has experience in creating traditional and more sophisticated estate planning tools, such as revocable living trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, as well as family partnerships and charitable trusts. He advises clients in planning estates, using wills, powers of attorney, patient advocate designations, lifetime gifting, various revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable giving, shareholder agreements and other various estate planning options.
Mr. Gans earned his J.D. in 1962 from Michigan State University College of Law (formerly Detroit College of Law) and he received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1957 from Wayne State University.
Mr. Gans is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Oakland County Bar Association. |
