Scott A. Schmunk is a Member with Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy & Sadler, PLC. He practices in the areas of real estate transactions and business and entertainment law.
Mr. Schmunk specializes in transactional real estate where he represents parties in acquiring and disposing of property, leasing commercial and retail space, negotiation of financing and various land use and planning matters. Mr. Schmunk's prior work experience includes acting as legal counsel to a large title company where he engaged in underwriting commercial and residential transactions, as well as claims administration and Mr. Schmunk continues to represent title companies in the defense and administration of claims, as well as being retained as an expert witness for litigation.
In addition to his transactional work, Mr. Schmunk has assisted clients in the formation of condominium developments and "dockuminiums" throughout Michigan.
In the corporate area, Mr. Schmunk is involved in the creation and structuring of limited partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations for his clients.
In his entertainment practice, Mr. Schmunk provides legal services to the film industry throughout the production process, including corporate structuring, application for the Michigan Film Incentives, licensing, financial agreements, location agreements, distribution agreements, releases and labor contracts.
Mr. Schmunk is a 1996 cum laude graduate of Michigan State University, College of Law. While there, he was a member of the Journal of International Law and Practice. Mr. Schmunk earned his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1990, in Materials Logistics Management.
Mr. Schmunk is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association as well as the Real Property Law Section of the Michigan State Bar. |
