Suanne Tiberio Trimmer is a Member of Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy & Sadler, PLC. She concentrates her practice in the areas of employment and labor relations, health and safety and general civil litigation.
Mrs. Trimmer has extensive experience representing employers in a wide range of employment matters. She has defended claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, sales commission disputes and enforcement of non-competition and confidentiality agreements in both state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the EEOC, MDCR and MIOSHA. She also has provided advice on personnel matters such as policies and handbooks, separation agreements, termination and discipline issues, individual employment agreements, unemployment compensation and reduction-in-force programs.
Mrs. Trimmer's expertise in traditional areas of labor law includes advising employers regarding union organizing drives, union negotiations, defense of unfair labor practice charges and appearances before labor arbitrators and the National Labor Relations Board.
In the area of general civil litigation, Mrs. Trimmer has represented companies in a variety of industries, from automotive suppliers to retailers to home builders, in cases involving breach of contract, ordinance violations and warranty claims among others.
Mrs. Trimmer is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, American Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, the Human Resources Association of Greater Detroit where she has served as Chair of its Legislative Committee, as Vice President of Legal Affairs and as a member of its Board of Directors, and the Society for Human Resource Management. Mrs. Trimmer has also been named a Michigan Super Lawyer by Law & Politics Magazine since 2006.
Mrs. Trimmer earned her J.D. from DePaul University in 1979 and a B.A., with high distinction, from the University of Michigan in 1976. She began her legal career as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Avern Cohn of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. |
