Theresa C. Joswick practices in the areas of employee benefits and ERISA. Ms. Joswick has more than 30 years experience in assisting a wide range of clients in the design, preparation, implementation, administration and taxation of retirement plans, welfare (medical, dental, cafeteria and severance pay), and executive benefit plans for both for-profit and tax-exempt organizations. She also advises both buyers and sellers on benefit issues in connection with business mergers, acquisitions and dispositions.
Ms. Joswick earned her J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (formerly known as the University of Detroit School of Law), and her A.B. from the University of Michigan.
Ms. Joswick served as Chair of the Employee Benefits Committee of the Oakland County Bar Association for the 2002-2003 year. She is the author of the employee benefits chapter of Employment Law in Michigan, An Employer's Guide, published by The Institute of Continuing Legal Education. She has been listed since 1997 in The Best Lawyers in America for her employee benefits specialty and since 2006 as a Leader in her specialty in Chambers USA, America's Leading Lawyers for Business. Ms. Joswick also was listed in "Michigan Super Lawyers" for 2007. She is listed in "Michigan Super Lawyers" for 2008, as one of the "Top 50 Women Michigan Super Lawyers" for 2008 and in "Super Lawyers Corporate Counsel Edition," December 2008. |
