Tyler D. Tennent is a Member of Dawda, Mann, Mulcahy & Sadler, PLC. He concentrates his practice in the areas of land use, environmental, tax incentives, sustainability, real estate, general corporate and related litigation.
Mr. Tennent serves as regional land use and environmental counsel to several national development companies and international manufacturing concerns. He frequently assists clients with the development and operation of contaminated and Brownfield properties; the attainment of local, state and national use permits; the securing of tax incentives; the minimization of environmental risks associated with managing hazardous wastes; sustainable practices (LEED trained) and, with the drafting of contracts and corporate policies to avoid exposure to environmental liability. He is a recognized legal expert in soil, air, groundwater and surface water issues. Additionally, he handles complex cases that analyze the transactional effects of environmental liability and advises corporations on the implementation of environmental audit and compliance programs.
Mr. Tennent has significant litigation expertise representing parties in commercial, land use, and environmental litigation, including local, state and federal administrative appellate actions and regulatory proceedings.
In his business practice, Mr. Tennent counsels businesses entering unique markets and guides them through the array of legal issues presented.
Mr. Tennent also writes and publishes articles in state and national legal publications. As a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Mr. Tennent participates in its Environmental Law Section and is a member of the Air, Real Estate, Wetlands and Surface Groundwater Committees. He is also a member of the American Bar Association's Natural Resources and Environment Section and the Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Tennent earned his J.D. in 1984 from Michigan State University College of Law and his B.A. from Michigan State University in 1981. |
