Sadler and Considine become LEED Accredited
Susan J. Sadler and Brian J. Considine have earned the credential of LEED Accredited Professional from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) in conjunction with the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance green buildings. Certification as a LEED Accredited Professional (AP) distinguishes professionals who have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles.
Sadler is one of the first nine attorneys in Michigan to earn the LEED AP certification according GBCI. The LEED AP accreditation complements Ms. Sadler's expertise in the area of Environmental and Sustainability Law. The LEED AP certification also enhances the Firm's legal representation of businesses pursuing opportunities in green construction, products and services.
Ms. Sadler has over 28 years experience providing counsel on compliance with a full range of environmental laws, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Wetland Regulations, Endangered Species Act, and state environmental statutes and permitting requirements. She frequently defends corporations in administrative proceedings and environmental litigation brought by citizens groups, Attorney General Offices and the Federal Justice Department.
Ms. Sadler earned her J.D. from the University of Toledo in 1980 and a B.A. from Albion College in 1977.
According to the GBCI website, Mr. Considine is one of the first fifteen attorneys in Michigan to earn the LEED AP certification and the first in Michigan to become accredited as a LEED AP with specialization in green building design & construction after having just passed the 2009 LEED AP BD+C exam.
Mr. Considine has over 12 years experience providing counsel on compliance with a full range of environmental laws, including the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Wetland Regulations, Endangered Species Act, and state environmental statutes and permitting requirements.
Mr. Considine earned his J.D. from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, cum laude in 1995. He earned his M.S. in Environmental Science from Indiana University in 1991 and his B.S. from Marquette University in 1988.
